Wild Soul Wednesday:: the desert
This last year and a half of my dating life has been such an adventure and an exercise in patience as well.
When I begin to lose my faith in huMANity, I listen again to The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
The way he was lead across the dessert only to be told the treasure he was seeking is in his own hometown.
It represents to me the journey of my wild soul.
The truth is that when following my inner knowing my life can look and feel uncertain and non-linear.
It can look messy and inefficient.
It can also feel fun and refreshing.
It can feel like freedom.
It can teach me the most profound lessons and open me up to unique opportunities and possibilities.
This journey to my soulmate has for the most part been a desert with a few oasis thrown in to let my spirit rest and see what soul partnership feels like, enough of a taste to know it is worth the journey. My Spirit has whispered to me over and over the type of relationship that I am destined for and I can't commit to anything less than that. What I am made for is best described by this poem by Kate Rose
There’s a love out there with your name on it
One that drips like the warm juice of tangerines down your chin
Never seemingly having enough of a great thing
One that honors like the stars
And loves like the moon
One that doesn’t doubt
Wonder
Or have to figure anything out
A love that welcomes a hand across a bare hip sliding suggestively within the darkness because it couldn’t wait for the light of the day
A love that drips in warm showers in the morning and rubs aching muscles in the evening
One that builds and grows
Supports and cherishes
A love that makes you more of who you are
Makes you remember who you really are
Before you began to doubt within the darkness of others
A love that helps you clear the path into your future by helping unpack the bags of your past
One that heals with soft kisses on collarbones and the consistency of promises kept
A love that does not hide, assume or lie
But thinks only the best of
That defends and forgives unconditionally
One that treats each day as the gift that it is
Where there’s pleasure found within the simple act of loving
Of sharing two lives but keeping the breath of freedom to inspire independence
A love that listens
That dreams
That opens up new worlds and experiences
That makes you question everything
And kisses passionately, deeply until time stops
A love like this
Is out there and has your name on it
-Kate Rose
Until this love with my name on it appears in my life, I will continue to cross the desert. My playful spirit keeps going. Knowing that the greatest gift of this journey is the deep well of self-love that I have dug in my own heart. It sustains me so beautifully. So grateful that I have many lovely souls that pour into me and I am always only a breath away from Divine Love.
